Low-Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared System for Night
LANTIRNTM (Low Altitude Navigation and Targeting Infrared for Night) navigation and targeting FLIR system provides US Air Force, US Navy, and international pilots with combat-proven technology to meet the operational requirements for precision strike missions. The combination of the navigation pod and the targeting pod provides exact navigational capabilities in day or night in good or adverse weather to allow the aircrew to locate the target, gain positive identification, attack from a standoff distance, and ensure precise impact of ordnance.
Today's LANTIRN With over 700 targeting pods flying with US and 12 international air forces, LANTIRN is the undisputed leader in its field. LANTIRN has more combat experience by far than all other competitors combined. Since its debut in Operation Desert Storm, the design has been continuously refined. The upgrade options offered on today's targeting pod significantly improve performance and supportability and reduce operating cost.
Modernized LANTIRN The LANTIRN modernization program upgrades the targeting system with a 3rd Gen FLIR with extended range (XR), 40kft laser, CCD TV sensor, digital data recorder, geo-locater, and a laser spot tracker. With fewer parts, higher reliability, faster repairs, and lower LCC, the new targeting system will ensure mission success on today's and tomorrow's aircraft systems.
