Brimstone is an autonomous air-to-surface missile that independently locates, tracks and engages fixed and moving targets day or night in any weather. A modular fire-and-forget missile system, it allows the warfighter to engage targets from standoff ranges. Capabilities Launched from fixed-wing aircraft. Easily integrated on a variety of manned and unmanned launch platforms. Two attack modes: Direct attack mode allows aircrew to engage individual targets utilizing onboard sensors and targeting systems. Indirect attack mode allows aircrew to autonomously release weapons to a specified area where the radar millimeter wave seeker using advanced target algorithms locates and attacks specific target sets. Large carriage and release envelope: Very low to high altitude Subsonic to transonic speeds Release throughout fighter aircraft flight envelope Light-weight, compact design provides maximum stowed kills. Large engagement footprint Off-boresight, all-weather capability holds a large area at risk. Smart, MIL-STD 1760 launcher facilitates aircraft integration. Tandem high-explosive warhead defeats explosive reactive armor (ERA).
